Activity 3: Reading - Enjoying Hotel Meals 📖

Read this story about a guest experiencing different meal options at a hotel.

Anna was excited for her first morning at the "Seaview Hotel." After waking up, she remembered the receptionist mentioning that Breakfast was included with her room. She went down to the dining area and saw a wonderful buffet with fruits, breads, eggs, and juices. Anna enjoyed a delicious Breakfast while looking out at the ocean. It was a great start to her day. She thought about where she might have lunch and dinner later. The hotel had a nice-looking Restaurant near the lobby, and she had seen a Menu in her room that listed many interesting dishes.

Later that evening, after a long day of sightseeing, Anna felt too tired to go down to the Restaurant. She remembered she could Order food to her room. She found the Room service Menu and called the number. "Hello," she said, "I'd like to order some food, please. Could I have the chicken sandwich and a salad?" The person on the phone was very polite and confirmed her order. About thirty minutes later, a friendly staff member brought her meal on a tray. Anna enjoyed her dinner in the comfort of her room. She was happy the hotel offered different ways to enjoy meals, from the busy breakfast buffet to the quiet option of Room service.

Lisa (Receptionist): Good morning, Mr. Ben! Our Breakfast buffet is served in the main dining hall on the ground floor from 7 AM to 10 AM.

Mr. Ben (Guest): That sounds good. And for dinner, is there a hotel Restaurant?

Lisa (Receptionist): Yes, our "Seaside Grill" Restaurant is open for dinner from 6 PM to 10 PM. You can see the Menu in your room information booklet.

Mr. Ben (Guest): Excellent. What if I want to eat in my room? Is Room service available?

Lisa (Receptionist): Yes, we offer Room service 24 hours a day. The menu for that is also in your room booklet.

Mr. Ben (Guest): So, if I want to Order food for Room service, do I just call a number?
